| Captured in this true-color Terra MODIS image, a once in a lifetime snowfall in South Texas extended all the way to the Mexican border on Christmas Day, 2004. Anywhere from two to six inches of snow accumulated on an otherwise tropical area. This was the first snow accumulation in Brownsville, Texas (the southernmost American city along the US-Mexico border) in 109 years. Just days after the snow fell, temperatures rose back into the 80s (Fahrenheit) and melted the surprise away. The Terra MODIS sensor passes over south Texas once daily at an altitude of 705km (438 miles). This scene is comes printed on high quality premium luster finish paper. Get yours while they last!
